Singapore
Yesterday was interesting, we got a lift to the top of the KL Tower - which used(?) to be the tallest communications tower in the world. Lovely views of stuff we didn't get a chance to see in our limited time in KL!
We did manage to find time to visit Lake Gardens, and were lucky that we were pretty much the only ones there, however, we were hot and tired, and could not find any refreshments anywhere, so we resigned ourselved to a taxi ride back to our guesthouse (the Backpackers Travellers Lodge in china-town).
We did manage a trip to the central market, but was just more shopping.... If you can't do anything else in KL, you can shop, and shop, and shop. Every street it seems has a shopping complex of some sort or other! Laura hates it.... still (hehe)
We caught the bus this morning from Pudaraya bus station to Singapore, a quick and easy 5 hours door to door!
James(F) will be glad to know that there seems to be a complete lack of 'hippie shit' in Singapore, in-fact, everything is, well, just nice really!! Very clean and people are smart, we don't fit in at-all really! But only got here a few hours ago :-)
We are staying in the colonial district in a hotel called the Hawai Hostel which is nice but a little over the odds (S$32 = 12quidish) but this is our first A/C room as we couldn't get one with just a fan.
Will be checking out the hi-tech gadgets methinks in this super-modern city... so may be spending the rest of my budget soon hehe :-)
TTFN :)
