You should try going to a site with an self-signed ssl certificate. A lot of the devices we use at work have self-signed certificate so it can use https and every time you have to add *another* exception to firefox. Whats worse is that the page it does show you gives the impression the site is down at first glance.

That's pretty much the only thing IE7 does better. If you get a self-signed site (which I do on the old centralperk), then the address bar at least lets you know.

At which point it all gets spasticated, but it's the thought that counts, innit?
