keeping up with the mobile web

I've been doing my job now for about 6 months, and in that time i've been trying to keep up to date with what I learned at uni.

I've managed to find a way to work on the train on the way home by plugging in a usb stick running xampp allowing me to develop stuff on the train using my work laptop.

a new version of myGRL is the focus of my efforts, but i think i'm going to need help! i really want to know if anyone would actually use it. there seems to be more and more devices (phones, PDAs, apple laptops, TomToms ) with GPS built in that also have connectivity(gprs, 3g, WiFi) and the ability to run programming runtimes such as Java (j2me), the .NET compact framework or flash.

This makes me think that theses something to be done with it, and a need get in there before the big boys do!

The main readership of my blog will know that I'm often coming up with far reaching and rosy eyed views of cool things that we could develop, but as the cloak of corporate bollocks descends all around me, i am increasingly aware that i need to get something tangible and promising to focus on.

the question is, who would help me, and is it worth it?
